THE WEIGHT IS OVER
The article gives details of the increased lorry weights and dimensions now permitted in the United Kingdom. The regulations detailed provide an overall package' of measures covering increased weights of up to 38,000 kg, axle spacing and loading requirements, increased lengths, and also the fitting of rear under-run protection and sideguards. Tables show the range of maximum weights between 32,250-38,000 kg taking into account the number of axles, axle spacing and overall length. In addition, the regulations include a height limit of 4.2M which does not apply to a vehicle's load except in the case of a container vehicle when the container is regarded as part of the vehicle.
