ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT FOR OPTIMIZED TRAIN CONTROL OF THE MILAN UNDERGROUND RAILWAY
Some of the rolling stock of the Milan underground railway has been fitted with electronic equipment for optimizing train control. The equipment, which is integrated in the vehicle, performs automatically the tasks which would be expected of a skilled train driver and permits close adherence to the daily timetable and also minimum power consumption. Authors explain the function and features of this equipment and report on the results achieved in Milan after three years service.
