TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE HANDICAPPED IN URBAN AREAS--CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

This report contains the proceedings of the Conference on the State of the Art of Planning and Implementing Transportation Services for the Handicapped in Urban Areas. It discusses the state of the art of planning, implementation, operations, and equipment for providing accessible transportation for the handicapped in urban areas. In each of these four areas discussion was concentrated on the following issues: (a) citizen and consumer involvement, (b) funding, (c) regulations, and (d) future research needs. This conference was sponsored by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration.
