Virtual Public Involvement Technical Assistance Workshop Summary Report: New England States Virtual Workshop
This report summarizes the presentations, activities, and discussions that took place during the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Virtual Public Involvement (VPI) Workshop hosted virtually by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) on July 13, July 20, August 3, and August 10, 2021.The purpose of the workshop was to provide state departments of transportation (DOTs), metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), regional transportation planning agencies (RTPAs), and transportation consultants who work in New England states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine) with information about, and examples of, VPI techniques and tools -- specifically engaging with traditionally underserved communities and making project visualizations.
