NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING FOR CORROSION EVALUATION
A review with 14 references covers 20 years' experience in Canada with nondestructive techniques (radiography, ultrasonics, eddy current testing, magnetic partilce inspection, dye penetrant inspection, vibration analysis, spectrometric oil analysis, infrared testing, and visual methods) to handle corrosion problems classified as (1) general wastage, (2) pitting corrosion, (3) intergranular corrosion, (4) dezincification and dealuminification, (5) corrosion fatigue, (6) stress corrosion cracking, and (7) hydrogen embrittlement.
