FIRST 12-INCH OFFSHORE LINE REELED-IN AT EUGENE ISLAND BLOCK 259
Floor Ocean Services used the reel-barge RB-2 to lay 10,800 ft of 12 in, pipeline in 160 ft of water between two production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, completing in 12 hr a project that otherwise would have taken three or four days. The Fluor RB-2, commissioned in Apr. 1970, has laid almost 1 million ft of pipe.
