CONSIDERATIONS TO ASSURE ADEQUATE AIR QUALITY ANALYSIS FOR INDIVIDUAL HIGHWAY SECTIONS. INTRODUCTION
This report summarizes the results of a two-day meeting held December 9-10, 1976, to discuss and review a draft report entitled Project-Level Considerations to Assure Adequate Air Quality Analysis. The specific charge made to the panel was to consider the content, scope, and technical aspects and information contained in the draft report in order to ensure that the final report would provide practical guidelines. The purpose of the report is to provide guidance to state transportation agencies and their consultants, FHWA and EPA field offices, and state and local air quality control agencies on the scope, content, levels of analysis, and assumptions involved in air quality studies for proposed highway projects. Such studies are required under federal regulations and are included as part of environmental impact statements. (Author)
