THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF BUS DRIVERS. VIBRATIONS
BUSSFOERARES ARBETSMILJOE. VIBRATIONER
The study is focused on whole body vibrations. These vibrations have been measured in a number of buses, mainly Scania and Volvo, by using a special vibration meter. A relationship between vertical accelerations of the bus floor and road roughness has been established with the aid of the Saab road surface tester. The evaluation of the influence of whole body vibrations on man is performed in accordance with ISO standard 2631 "Guide for the evaluation of human exposure to whole body vibration". The vibration transmitting properties of the driver seat have also been investigated. Results show that the working environment of bus drivers can be regarded as acceptable regarding vibrations.
