ASSESSING ROAD INVESTMENT STRATEGIES IN ARGENTINA

As part of the national transport plan of Argentina a need arose to calculate the future capital and maintenance expenditure associated with various policies for developing the road network. A number of programs were written which used the available data on the network to assess the opportunities for upgrading of each link. Taking into account regional traffic growth and network wear and tear, it was possible to select a pattern of future road investment compatible with a given policy or budget. (TRRL)
