HIGHWAY SAFETY LITERATURE. A PUBLICATION OF TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH INFORMATION SERVICE

Highway Safety Literature, a concurrent publication of HRIS Abstracts, is published quarterly during the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter of each year. Highway Safety Literature contains from 600-800 abstracts of journal articles, technical papers in conference proceedings and announcements of bibliographies. The subject content of the works cited pertains to vehicle and occupant safety. Topics covered include restraint systems, alcohol abuse, accident statistics, vehicle design and maintenance, vehicle pavement interaction, and related laws and regulations. Each issue includes selections assigned to the HRIS subject area 51, Safety. In addition to the abstracts, each 130-160 page issue includes an index of retrieval terms, personal authors and sources. The Winter issue contains a cumulative index for the four issues which comprise an annual volume. All abstracts are in English. Abstracts of foreign language source documents are included and the language of the original document is noted. Each issue of Highway Safety Literature provides availability information for the acquisition of full text documents.
