IHI-DEVELOPED LARGE CAPACITY INERT GAS SYSTEM INSTALLED ON "GLOBTIK LONDON"
The inert gas system installed aboard the GLOBTIK LONDON is described. This inerting system has the highest capacity in the world, and it is designed to charge cargo tanks constantly-regardless of whether they are occupied or otherwise - with inert gas at the time of loading as well as at other times in order to reduce the oxygen content and density within the tanks. Particulars of the system, including the source of the inert gas, gas composition after cooling and cleaning, and the function of each element in the system, such as the absorbing tower and the mist separator, are also described.
