MILESTONES IN THE APPLICATION OF POWER TO AGRICULTURAL MACHINES
Important milestones are discussed in the application of internal combustion engine power to agricultural machines, particularly tractors. During this evolution, cumbersome low productivity machinery was replaced with easily operated, improved high performance equipment incorporating many safety and comfort features. An evaluation of the efficiency of fuel use and the productivity of farm workers is included. Where possible the individual or company responsible for first introducing the selected milestone is cited.
