PROBLEMS AT THE INTERFACE. A RAIL VIEWPOINT
Problems encountered with rail piggyback shipments, due to truck-rail, ocean-truck and ocean-rail and rail-to-rail interchange, are evaluated. Possible solutions to the return of empty containers are one-way leasing, tariffs and increased coordination between shippers and customers to reduce costs and handling.
