THE ALCOHOL SAFETY SCHOOL: AN INTERIM REPORT

DIE ALKOHOLVEILIGHEIDSKOOL: 'N INTERIM VERSLAG

In the introduction and background to the report the primary causes for the development of the school are reviewed as well as comparable programs in other countries. The contents and purpose of the course is discussed and a program of the lectures supplied. The different questionnaires are mentioned and information gathered therefrom supplied. Aspects such as age, marital status, blood alcohol concentration, previous convictions and socio-economic factors are discussed, as well as the persons' own account of the events, drinking habits and drinker type. A diagnosis of the nature of the alcohol related problems is then given. A short and long term evaluation of the project is given in conclusion. (TRRL)
