TRAFFIC SAFETY MODEL
VERKEERSVEILIGHEIDSMODEL
A predicting model for traffic safety characteristics is developed for specific road sections within built up areas. Road data, accident data and traffic sociological and traffic economic data are used as input. The model describes only the traffic safety. More fundamental knowledge of the traffic safety phenomenon can be obtained by making more extensive and detailed analyses by the Poisson-model or the logit-model. Relationships between the kind of accidents (conflict and infrastructure) could be made explicit in a logit-model and could be studied. (TRRL)
