The book consists of two parts. Part I is the theoretical part, which is based on part II. Part II is a combination of two studies. One is called "description of the process of traffic and transport" and the other "recognition of national policy in the fields of traffic and transport". Traffic and transport are described in two periods: from 1917-1945 and thereafter. Urbanisation and the use of land is described for the same period. The policy for traffic safety is described for the period 1945-1978. Recommendations are added. (TRRL)
