Numerical Simulation of the Stress-Strain State of a Whole-Rolled Railway Car Wheel on a Sample Used for Mechanical Testing
The process of simulation of the stress-strain state (SSS) and wheel strength on laboratory samples is described. A prismatic sample can be used for mechanical fatigue testing with a fillet transition. At its ends, the sample has areas of support and is bent by the transverse load. The numerical simulation has shown that the sample simulates the type of stress-strain state of an area of the solid-rolled wheel where ring fatigue cracks occur.
