Automated Driving Vehicle and Intelligent Highway in China
With the rapid development of China’s economy, the scale of expressways is expanding, and the level of intelligence and information is improving. Today, with the rapid development of technology and integration of Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence and traditional industries, the intelligent design of transportation infrastructure should integrate innovation and adapt to the traffic streetscape of automated and connected driving vehicles. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China will further increase the pace of intelligent infrastructure construction. It is proposed to build two systems: transportation infrastructure and information infrastructure; to carry out key technology research on integrated intelligent transportation cybernetic and coordinated operation, and coordinate highway information construction. Therefore, the word "intelligent highway" will become a hot word for highway construction in the new era. This paper will comprehensively explore the concept of intelligent highway, analyze the development of intelligent highway in China, and lay a solid foundation for their construction.
