POTENTIAL AND FRICTIONAL WAKE OF SHIPS
The potential flow over the hulls of six ships has been calculated using the computer program of Dr. S.B.S. Uberoi. On the basis of these calculations and of three-dimensional potential flow and potential wake calculations made previously by the author, an analysis has been made of the influence of the form of sections on the potential wake. An estimate of the frictional wake was carried out based on the flow pattern over the hulls, the lengths of the streamlines and the results of model tests.
