OPERATIONAL CHEMICAL CLEANING OF ONCE-THROUGH BOILERS BY A SIMPIFIED METHOD
To carry out a chemical clean by the simplified technique it is advisable to use a solution of disubstitution ammonium salt of EDTA at a concentration of 0.03-0.05%, a temperature scavenging solution of about 150 C and a velocity of 1.5-2 m/s. Under these conditions, cleaning the LRS of a PK-41 boiler in an open system takes 4-6 h. Putting the boiler back into operation immediately after clean enables separate passivation of the metal to be avoided; passivation takes place during the process of bringing the boiler up to working parameters.
