INFLUENCES OF STRUCTURE AND TEMPERATURE ON DEFLECTION OF ASPHALT PAVEMENT - AN APPROACH TO TEMPERATURE CORRECTION

In this paper, (1) the relationship of temperature to deflection and radius of curvature under a constant load is examined using as factors the thickness of asphalt treated layer, elastic modulus of bearing layer, and the ratio of elastic moduli of the above two layers, (2) a multiple correlation formula indicating the deflection and the differential deflection for determining the radius of curvature is derived, (3) a correction formula for reference temperature (20 deg C) is determined, and (4) thus obtained correction formula is examined in comparison with two-three correction diagrams proposed in the past.
