FUEL SAVING TYPE POWER PLANT FOR AUTOMOBILES (ILLUSTRATION)
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has developed a modulated displacement engine named "Orion MD" and an electronically controlled damper clutch automatic transmission named "ELC Automatic" and has installed them on the new "Mirage" series and "Cordia" series respectively which were put on sale in Feburary, 1982. They improve fuel economy to a great extent especially at low vehicle speed, and provide good driveability and high reliability. This paper presents the outline of the "Orion MD" and "ELC Automatic".
