Digital modeling of the mechanics of mobile road pavements made of high-molecular low-pressure polyethylene for application in the Arctic
The paper addresses the possibility of using temporary road pavements in the form of slabs made of high-molecular low-pressure polyethylene. The load applied to temporary road pavements was simulated by using wheeled and tracked vehicles, which corresponds to the real operating conditions, including in the oil and gas industry. When modeling the loading of temporary road pavements, the physical and geometric nonlinearity of the problem was taken into account. The results of the numerical modeling of pavement behavior show that the arrangement of temporary roads and sites in the Arctic, using polymer materials, is a promising and feasible direction.
