RAIL LINKS TO AIRPORTS: BY UNDERGROUND TO HEATHROW

After briefly reviewing the earlier history of the links with London airport, the author concentrates on the underground extension scheme which was started in 1971 and opened in 1977, and the decision to build an underground loop line to Terminal 4.
