Harmonisation of asphalt compaction standards: 2020–21
An important component of the current Austroads asphalt mix design procedure is the use of gyratory compaction to determine the volumetric properties of asphalt mixes in the laboratory. With production of the Gyropac, a bespoke compactor, ceasing a new test method needed to be designed. This project was was established to assist TMR with transitioning towards a new gyratory compaction test method and reviewing current best practice for drying asphalt cores prior to bulk density testing.
