COMPLEX VERIFICATION OF THE ROAD PAVEMENT SERVICEABILITY

As a part of the scientific-technical co-operation between Finland and Hungary problems connected with pavement serviceability and pavement condition evaluation have been dealt with. Evaluation of pavement serviceability, measuring methods and equipment for structural serviceability of pavements, road data bank, long-term observation of roads and pavement distress are discussed. At the moment there is already apparatus for the evaluation of pavement serviceability that is reliable and easy to use and has enough capacity even for a systematic evaluation of the road network. The systematic evaluation of road condition has become an important factor when considering the maintenance and the construction work. The road data bank is an important factor in this work and in it data about serviceability ought to be included. (TRRL)
