BUS PARK AND RIDE: DESIGN GUIDELINES
Park and ride lots have proven to be effective in encouraging people to use public transit. Once it has been decided to construct a permanent park and ride facility and the general service area has been identified, care must be taken in the location and design of the lot. It is desirable that the lot be located so that both buses and automobiles have access and egress. Equal consideration must be given to assuring safe and convenient circulation for buses, automobiles, and pedestrians within the lot. These and other areas of concern can be addressed during the design of the facility.
