NUISANCE FROM ROAD CONSTRUCTION: STUDIES AT OLDHAM AND BRACKNELL
The Transport and Road Research Laboratory has carried out a number of surveys to discover more about the nuisance which arises from road construction works. This report describes three surveys: at Oldham, where a new road was being built and two at Bracknell, where roads were being widened and in one case new service roads constructed. This report describes the surveys and gives some of the results; including the extent to which people were bothered by the work at different distances from it and the sources of annoyance.
