RATIONAL USE OF CEMENTS FOR DIFFERENT KINDS OF WORKS

EMPLEO RACIONAL DE LOS CEMENTOS PARA LOS DIFERENTES TIPOS DE OBRAS

Certain properties and the more important behaviour factors of cements are presented as well as their role in the main problems that could occur when utilizing correctly or incorrectly these cements in the main kinds of works. The following subjects are dealt with: cements in general, portland cement, pozzolanic cements and granulated slags, fineness, expansivity (by free lime, by gypsum) attack by sulphates, swelling by aggregate-alkali reaction, by pyrite aggregates, by framework corrosion and plastic shrinkage.
