STUDY OF SINGLE-SIDED LINEAR INDUCTION MOTOR PERFORMANCE WITH SOLID IRON SECONDARIES
A computer model is described that predicts the reaction forces developed by single-sided linear induction motors (SLIM's) with solid iron secondaries. The model predictions are compared with test results obtained from three separate SLIM investigations covering a wide range of operating conditions and SLIM design parameters. The results demonstrate the basic validity of the model and its applicability for magnetic levitation (Maglev) optimization and analysis.
