Truck Driver Perspectives on Truck Parking Information Systems
This report discusses the results of a 2019 truck parking survey of 1,103 truck drivers. It looks at how truck drivers currently receive parking availability information and their preferences for receiving that information. It includes information regarding parking monitoring technologies, variable message signs, smartphone applications, and embedded systems with pushed information. Survey responses show that 57.3% of drivers had utilized a truck parking app; and 70.1% of drivers found truck parking variable message signs to be useful.
