METHODS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ROAD MAINTENANCE PRIORITIES

This report tries to highlight rather simple methods of evaluation which do not necessarily rely on the use of expensive equipment and which, therefore, should be easily practicable in and by African countries. These methods concern the assessment and collection of data (classification of pavements, evaluation of pavement conditions, methods for quantifying pavement deficiencies) and the assessment of need and priority for maintenance (quality standards, determination of priorities, assessment of maintenance needs in Germany).
