WATER TRANSPORTATION OF PETROLEUM AND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS IN THE FUTURE
This report considers the movement of petroleum and petroleum products by water based on the need for these products as seen in the National Petroleum Council's report entitled "U.S. Energy Outlook." The total movements of petroleum and petroleum products will increase through 1985 on U.S. Coastal and Inland Waters but the nature and pattern of these movements will change. Resolution of environmental needs and new refinery siting problems will greatly influence the movement pattern. Just how these unknowns will be solved produces a wide range of transportation possibilities which are presented in this report.
