TURBINE TOTAL ENERGY FOR OFFSHORE RIGS
More efficient energy systems are being demanded by companies engaged in the operation of offshore oil platforms. This demand is being met by gas turbines. How this is accomplished is described in the article. Platform energy system requirements, advantages of gas turbines over other prime movers in meeting these requirements, major system components, and system economics are all described by the authors.
