UNIVERSAL RSB 1 CONTROLLER FOR ON-BOARD SYSTEMS
In modern vessels, more and more sub-systems are being automated. To meet the most diverse requirements in this connection, a simple, easily adaptable controller with full capabilities has been developed. Trials on board ship have confirmed the results of theoretical studies. The controller is of the proportional plus derivation action type. The derivative action of the controller has a stabilizing effect on the controlled plants. For practical considerations, a three-point controller action with controlled pulse width and pulse frequency has been chosen as controller output signal to activate a motor. The controller comprises integrated linear circuits; these operational amplifiers are extremely suitable for all applications arising in ship operations. In the design, particular attention was paid to devising functional modules which are economical to manufacture and install and permit thorough testing.
