PROMOTING SEAT BELT USE: A COMPARISON OF THREE APPROACHES
This leaflet gives a brief summary of the paper by the same title. In the original paper three approaches to promoting seat belt use in Canada are described along with evaluations of their effectiveness. These three approaches are: mass media public education; a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP); and the use of feedback whereby a sign is posted at the roadside saying "Drivers wearing seat belts yesterday, X%".
