DEFECT PREVENTION THROUGH SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT
The applied defect prevention program described was developed by an industrial engineer, a quality control engineer and a process engineer working together as a team. The program, which has reduced defects by almost 50%, features written standard procedures guiding the actions of inspectors and production personnel, eliminating the bases for repeating causes of defects due to inspector and operator failures.
