FLEET ACCIDENT RATES 1982 EDITION

This booklet includes the individual and summarized experience of motor vehicle fleets participating in the National Fleet Safety Contest during the period January 1, 1981 to December 31, 1981. Some 1,303 fleets operating 274,217 vehicles reported their experience. These vehicles traveled about 6.5 billion miles, and experienced 53,256 accidents. The reader is cautioned that the accident rates shown for the different types of motor vehicle operations reflect the average experience of the reporting companies, but it is not known to what extent they represent the experience of all fleets in the nation.
