TRAFFIC IN THE PROCESS OF EVACUATION
PROMET U FUNKCIJI EVAKUACIJE
In the paper the evacuation of population from urban areas in the case of accidents due to natural causes or in war conditions using the roads has been observed. Traffic generation, travelling distribution in the form of transportation (individual and public transportation), traffic network load, change of the signal plan, relation between the minimal roads of the ortogonal and radial-circular road network and the influence of town planning and traffic solutions for the needs of evacuation have been theoretically worked out in detail. Two basic conceptions of development based on plans of surplus road capacities on the exits from towns and the orientation of an extensive public transport system have been founded. Both conceptions complement each other in creating conditions for pedestrian traffic along traffic corridors. (TRRL)
