IN A SLURRY PIPELINE, BLOCKAGES FORMED BY SETTLING DURING SHUTDOWN ARE REMOVED

In a slurry pipeline, blockages formed by settling during shutdown are removed by pumpling an inert solvent which dissolves the solid material into the pipeline at points, e.g., inclined portions, where plug formation is likely to occur; transport of the slurry may then be resumed.
