TRANSPORTING SOLID PARTICLES IN A LIQUID CARRIER
Transporting solid particles in a liquid carrier in a pipeline is facilitated by forming the particles into anglomerates which have a density closer to the density of the carrier liquid than the density of the solid particles. The solid particles, which are essentially insoluble in the carrier liquid, are agglomerated with a liquid which is substantially immiscible with the carrier liquid, and which is a film-forming liquid on the surfaces of the solid particles. The resulting agglomerates are dispersed in the carrier liquid and the dispersion pumped through the pipeline.
