ON THE EQUIVALENCE OF MODIFIED LOGIT MODELS - COMPRESSED/SATURATED LOGIT AND BINARY LOGIT

In travel choice modelling, the basic multinational logit model is a standard model form which has some restrictive properties in particular applications. One such property is the inability to accommodate captivity to particular alternatives (in a disaggregate data format), or a maximum percentage of the market going to a particular alternative (in an aggregate data format). A number of papers have proposed ways of accommodating this situation. This note brings the literature together to show their equivalence. (TRRL)
