THE DIRECTION LINE METHOD: A NEW WAY OF COLLECTING ROAD DATA
DE RAAIMETHODE: EEN NIEUWE MANIER OM GEGEVENS VAN DE WEG TE VERZAMELEN
Rational road management asks for a large number of various and exactly located data. These data should be collected by cheap manpower and processed by computer. It should be easy to link road accident records with road data, and to update them at any time. The system should be applicable to both single and dual carriageway roads. The article deals with a system developed in the Netherlands by which road data are located by the nearest hectometre-pole. (Author/TRRL)
