HYDRODYNAMIC IMPACT OF FLEXIBLE SPHERICAL SHELLS
Water impact accelerations of flexible shperical shells are analyzed considering hydroelastic interaction between water and vibrations of bottom surfaces. Four equations are derived to express the phenomena and solved numerically. Experiments were carried out with the models whose bottoms were flexible spherical shells. The experimental results are compared with the analytical results, and fair agreements are observed.
