EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATION--POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Because police officers respond to emergency calls for assistance every day, emergency vehicle operation can become a routine act that leads to complacent - and perhaps careless - driving under such conditions. The officer must always exercise caution when operating a vehicle under emergency conditions. Further, he must evaluate all factors before making the basic decision to operate as an emergency unit.
