PERFORMANCE OF STEEL FIBRE REINFORCED CONCRETE IN AXIALLY LOADED SHORT COLUMNS
Tests were made on four columns with and two without steel fibre reinforcement. Fibre content was varied up to 2.0% by weight. Five of the columns were compacted using internal poker vibrators, while the sixth, a duplicate column with 2% fibre was compacted on a vibrating table. The results of the tests showed that the inclusion of fibres in the quantities did not increase the ultimate loads of the columns. (Author/TRRL)
