BEATING THE HIGH COST OF POOR DRUM BRAKE MAINTENANCE
This article evaluates school bus drum brake performance and service life. The use of original equipment, quality replacement parts, the replacement of all parts that should be replaced, and proper training of mechanics, coupled with a well thought-out overall maintenance program that includes regularly scheduled inspections, will result in extended service from hydraulic drum brakes, while reducing maintenance and repair costs.
