BUILDING URBAN-SUBURBAN RAILWAYS (S-BAHN) IN SUCCESSIVE STAGES
S-BAHNEN SCHRITTWEISE REALISIEREN
Owing to the heavy investment required for the permanent way and rolling stock, S-Bahn networks can only be built and equipped in gradual stages. The successive construction stages must be developed individually, beginning with the standard equipment of stopping points for the future S-Bahn traffic, continuing with measures for strict adaptation with railway installations, and ending with the laying of special lines for the S-Bahn network. The writer describes future possibilities for the progressive construction of the urban-suburban network.
