SAFETY EDUCATION OF THE ROAD USER
The paper describes the role of the road safety officer in the local authority. It gives examples of the uses made of accident data in the areas of road safety education, publicity and training and discusses some of the considerations necessary in the mounting of a propaganda enterprise. Road safety education in schools is examined and current methods and developments applicable to the various age groups outlined. Examples are given of how the engineering and education functions can combine. The need for evaluation is explained. A model is described and examples quoted of various aspects of evaluation.
