RANKINE'S EARTH PRESSURE THEORY FOR INCLINED BACK FILLS
In this paper analytical expressions are derived on Rankine's theory of earth pressure for the coefficients of earth pressure, distribution of earth pressure, magnitudes and points of action of the resultant earth pressures on the walls retaining cohesive-frictional soils at a slope with vertical surcharge loading both for active and passive conditions. These expressions are lengthy but can be evaluated easily with the help of ordinary pocket calculator as has been demonstrated by a numerical example. (TRRL)
